Bocholt Textile Museum in (LWL)

In Bocholt, just across the border in Germany, more than 20,000 reels once operated in the Herding spinning mill. Today it is an impressive building - with no less than 4 floors - where the textile industry of the past comes back to life.

The exhibition offers a glimpse into both historical and modern techniques and international textile art. In the weaving mill - where the smell of oil meets you - all the looms rattle in a row. Several thousand men and women worked here every day 100 years ago.

From guided tours through the museum to knitting workshops: in the museum you will learn about the former textile industry in an accessible and creative way. The building is located between the old town of Bocholt and the Aa lake, around which there are several walking and cycling paths so that you can have fun all day in Bocholt!

The exhibition descriptions are also in English and it is possible to reserve a guided tour in English.
